The human visual inspection using a fluorescence microscope is a traditional method for analyzing slides obtained by the test FTA-ABS, a confirmatory test for the diagnosis of syphilis. The relevant attribute of this inspection is the color, which is classified into three levels of fluorescence intensity. The automation of this process is based on digital images and it presents as main difficulties: i) absence of a formal description of fluorescence intensity, ii) dependence of the shape and image acquisition. This paper proposes an automatic method for task classification based on rgb color pattern through an artificial neural network and diagnosis interpretation based on fuzzy logic.
