Resumen


In this work we present a new active contours method (ACM) based on radial Hilbert transform (RHT), called RHT bidirectional ACM. This RHT bidirectional ACM was compared to the gradient vector flow (GVF) ACM with regard to the capture range and convergence to concavities, computational costs and segmentation of the lungs in chest computed tomography images. The results show that RHT bidirectional ACM is more satisfactory than the GVF ACM in the computational cost and the segmentation of the lungs, and similar to this in the capture range and convergence to concavities.
