The aim of this paper is to give a concise description of hyperthermia and a brief review of its clinical applications. Three main clinical applications of HT are presented. They include local, regional or part-body HT and whole-body HT that deliver heat to localized, advanced or deep-seated and disseminated malignancies, respectively, depending on location, depth and staging of the tumor. This therapy is defined as a temperature rising in tumors to cause lethal effects on them, and it is used as an adjuvant treatment of radio and chemothe-rapy since it can potentialize lethal effects on cancerous cells. At the end of this paper, we present the future trends of this ther-apy.
