Resumen
The purpose of the study was to select the best radiofrequency coils for the study of small animal models in 1,5T MRI whole body clinical equipment. The signal -to-noise ratio (SNR), the contrast-to- noise ratio (CNR) and the nom uniformities (NUI) are evaluated of phantom using two different radiofrequency coils: the Head and Flex S coils from Sympho-ny machine (Siemens). It is demonstrated that the SNR, CNR and NUI are better with the flexible coil. As it is expected, that in the two phantom experiments the SNR for each phantom is in-creasing more than 25 %. The NUI decrease from the coils with one phantom to the same coil with two phantom. This results allow greater productivities and reproducibility of animals models studies in MRI clinical machine. As example, the T2 and DWI images obtained in this work of Winstar rats are showed.
