Resumen

Colposcopists must learn, maintain and refine their diagnostic and therapeutic technique throughout their entire professional career. This can be achieved only through continuous medical refresher courses and training. Such training must be done on models that allow the colposcopist to acquire diagnostic skills, achieve dexterity in taking biopsies, and perform ablative or destructive therapies without leaving recidivant lesions. This article presents a design for a low-cost colposcopic training model. The model offers a near-real work space, as well as training with tissues that resemble those of real surgery.
