Influence of the types of feet classified by baropodometry on the knee injuries

Resumen


The main sources of human balance are the feet.  In this study, we evaluated the influence of the morphology of the feet on the knees injuries. Baropodometric measurements  were  performed  in  228 football  players,  and  the  results were  divided  into  two groups:  Lesion  Group  (LG)  130  players  and  Control Group  (CG)  98  players. Three different types of feet were investigated in each group: normal, high and flat arched.  In this study, we observed a prevalence of pes cavus in LG group (~65%) compared to the GC group (~10%). The individuals who practice sports from LG group, with overweight and cavus foot type, were the most affected with knee injuries (~41 %).
